Inspiring Children, Delivering Social Impact: A Look Back at Our Latest Aspirations Day

Earlier this week, we returned to YHA Chester Trafford Hall for another Shaping Brighter Futures Aspirations Day – and once again, the energy, enthusiasm and potential of the children who joined us was truly inspiring.

Supported by partners including M&Y, Ecogee, the Royal National Town Planning Institute, Sustainable Cheshire and British Gas, the day was designed to do more than just inform – it was about sparking ambition, building confidence, and showing young people what’s possible.

From outdoor team activities to hands-on workshops exploring green careers, the day gave primary-age children the chance to connect with professionals, ask questions, and imagine their future in a growing sector. These experiences are more than just memorable -they’re transformative.

Housing associations play a vital role in shaping the futures of the communities they serve. By funding and supporting programmes like Aspirations Days, they’re not only investing in young people, they’re delivering measurable social impact.

How these programmes help housing associations:

  • Meet ESG and social value goals by supporting education, inclusion and sustainability
  • Engage young residents in meaningful, future-focused activities
  • Strengthening community relationships through collaboration and visibility
  • Support workforce development in sectors aligned with net zero targets

And the impact doesn’t end when the day does. Young people leave with new ideas, new confidence, and a sense of possibility – and that ripple effect continues in their schools, families and communities.

Looking Ahead

We’re proud to work with housing associations who see the value in empowering young people.

With two Aspirations Days delivered this month and more planned, we’re excited to keep building momentum and helping communities thrive.

If you’re a housing association looking to deliver real social impact, we’d love to talk about how you can get involved.
